My Dream for the Hinghwa People.
There are still many stations along my Hinghwa mission, but my ultimate destination is a tower known as the Hinghwa Heritage Centre.
I am fully aware that this destination may lie far beyond the horizon. To many, it may seem like an impossible dream. Yet, as I reflect on the legacy of our ancestors from the Tang and Song Dynasties, I am reminded that they accomplished achievements far greater than anything we can aspire to today. Their courage and perseverance remind me that no dream is impossible when it is guided by vision, faith, and determination.
Here in Nanyang, I have had the privilege of learning about three remarkable Hinghwa elders whom I respectfully regard as the Sages of Nanyang. Against tremendous odds, they accomplished what many thought impossible by uniting the Hinghwa community throughout Malaysia to establish the Federation of Hin Ann Associations. Their vision, resilience, and unwavering commitment transformed a dream into reality. Their inspiring story is told in the Malaysia section of this website.
If they could accomplish what once seemed impossible, then perhaps this dream is not beyond our reach either.
It is therefore my heartfelt invitation to the leaders of all Hin Ann Associations and all affiliated Hinghwa organisations to join hands in pursuing this shared vision. Together, we can work towards establishing a permanent home for our heritage—a place where future generations can learn, remember, and take pride in the remarkable journey of the Hinghwa people.
When that day arrives, I hope to transfer the virtual Hall of Hinghwa Jinshi, Hall of Pioneers, Hall of Hin Ann, and Hall of Guardians of the Hinghwa Heritage into the Hinghwa Heritage Centre, where they will stand as lasting tributes to those who have preserved, enriched, and advanced our heritage for generations to come.
Today, the Hinghwa Heritage Centre exists only as a vision. Tomorrow, with the support of our community, it may stand as a living monument to our shared heritage.
